LAHORE: Glowing tributes were paid to former Ameer of the Jamaat-e-Islami, late Qazi Husain Ahmed, for his services for Islam and the unity of the Muslim Ummah as also his Jehad against exploitation and injustice in the society, at a seminar held in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Eminent speakers at the seminar said that the people like Qazi Husain Ahmed never died, but remained alive in the memory of their nation. Late Qazi Husain Ahmed had strived for the oppressed people of Kashmir, Palestine, Burma, Bosnia, and other parts of the world till his last breath, they said.
Ameer, JIP, Senator Sirajul Haq presided over the seminar which was also addressed by JI deputy chief Prof. khurshid Ahmed, Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafiq, Allama Arif Wahidi, Allama Saqib Akbar, Wing Commander rtd Latif Qureshi, and Asif Luqman Qazi.
Sirajul Haq said that Qazi Husain Ahmed had struggled for Islamic system throughout his life. He said that the oppressive system prevailing in the country for the last seven y years had failed to resolve the problem of the masses and the Islamic system was the only solution of all the ills in the country.
He said that Qazi Husain Ahmed wanted to pull the country out of regional, racial and ethnic biases and to build Pakistan a truly Islamic welfare state where every man enjoyed basic facilities of life.
Khwaja Saad Rafiq said that Qazi Husian Ahmed had rendered huge sacrifices for Muslim unity, and democracy in the country, and the country at present badly needed hones t and dedicated leader like Qazi Husian Ahmed.
